  • explain the Tutorial Entitlement and the rights and responsibilities of a Reading College student
  • record your individual qualifications, achievements, experience and interests on entering college
  • monitor that you have started a programme of study that is right for you

  • discuss your career intentions and how they can be achieved.

Throughout the course your tutor will:

  • provide help and advice when needed
  • review your progress in order to update your targets and action plans within your Individual Learning Plan
  • communicate with other relevant staff to inform the review process
  • if necessary, helping you to contact Student Services or Additional Learning Support staff
  • for students who are under 18 years of age, keep parents or guardians informed of your progress and developments
  • for students who are sponsored by their employer, keeping that employer informed of your progress and developments.

Towards the end of the course your tutor will:

  • help you make informed decisions about future education and career options
  • help you update your CVs and produce personal statements
  • collect information on progress and achievements from course and subject tutors
  • provide a personal and academic reference when required by prospective universities, colleges or employers
  • confirm with you your success and destination after leaving Reading College.
