Pathway courses

Pathway courses are more specifically job focused and:

  • provide opportunities to learn from practical experience
  • provide opportunities to develop knowledge and understanding of work
  • develop skills in readiness for enterprise, employability and further learning.

The College works with its partner schools to plan coordinate a range of subjects at Levels 1 and 2. Pathway courses run for one day per week. You can choose Pathway options and put them together so that they make up a full two-day programme.

Pathway Subject Level Day
Beauty Level 1 Thursday
Childcare Level 2 Tuesday
Construction Level 1 Tuesday
Engineering Level 2 Thursday
Employability Skills

With a Pathway course you can:

  • study the subjects above that you find interesting, challenging and, most importantly, enjoyable
  • study in a practical hands-on way, both in and out of the classroom
  • prepare yourself for a place at college or university or for a job with in-built training, like an Apprenticeship
  • move up either to study for a career in your Pathway subject area or branch out in to something else quite different.
