Financial support for young people

Aged 16-18?
The Advice and Admissions team can provide you with financial advice, including support available to help you with the cost associated with studying. 

Unemployed students aged 16-19 who are participating in a Prince's Trust Team programme are eligible to apply for the bursaries.

Course fees 

If you are aged 16-18 you do not pay any tuition fees for our programmes. The only additional costs that may exist on some courses are for materials, books, uniforms or field trips. These are kept to a minimum. 

How to pay other fees

Payment may be made in person, over the phone or electronically.

The preferred methods of payment are:

  • Major debit and credit cards, except American Express
  • Direct debit as part of an instalment plan
  • In certain circumstances, other payment methods may be used, including:

  • Cash payments up to the value of £100
  • Cheques
  • College bursary schemes

    Download the 16-18 bursary application form to apply and for specific details regarding eligibility for each bursary. Any payment is subject to 92% attendance and adherence to the college Code of Conduct.  Find out more about the range of bursaries available.

    Ways to send your form to us

    Please return your completed and signed bursary application form  in person, with copies of all required documentation.

    If you would like to post your application, send it to:

    We advise that you send postal applications by Recorded or Special Delivery and only include photocopies, not original documents.
    Alternatively, you can send your completed form to studentfinance@activatelearning.ac.uk and attach scanned copies of any evidence required.
    Funds are limited and cannot be guaranteed, so applications will be processed in order of the date the completed application was received in. We strongly recommend that you submit your application before Monday 3 September, as applications received after this date may not be processed within our standard timescales. Bursary payments will not be backdated for applications made after the start of your course.
    If you are not satisfied with how your bursary application has been handled or you want to appeal a decision, please write to the Group Advice and Admissions Manager using the address above.

    International students

    If you are not a UK or EU citizen, you will need to pay international student fees. Please call us or email international@activatelearning.ac.uk for more details.
