Fashion Level 3 End of Term Exhibition

The Fashion Level 3 students had their end of term exhibition today.
The first year group have been working on an “Explorers of the World” project in their first term, learning about research, development and fashion skills. They have all designed and constructed an A-Line dress based on their research work into art movements. This research included carrying out a number of experiments such as finding “paint” in the environment and making collaged design ideas with photocopies of their own drawings.
Meanwhile the second year group made responses to the Victoria and Albert exhibitions “Postmodernism” and “The Power of Making”. They were required to make a garment or artefact to fit in with one of these exhibitions, exploring the use of textile techniques via experimentation and researching artists and designers. The outcomes were very varied, from wearable garments to sculpture and video or still imagery.
