Students receive professional training at Royal Berkshire Hospital

Last week, Level 3 Health and Social Care students visited Royal Berkshire Hospital for an intensive training day.

The workshops are taking place every Wednesday throughout the year. The initial workshop, which took place last week, focused on manual handling. Other workshops scheduled in the future will cover: nutrition, infection control, bed-making, audiology paediatrics and neonatal.

These activities helped develop the students' practical skills and knowledge which are required to enter the nursing profession. This is a great opportunity for students to be taught by real health professionals, within a real working environment, helping them understand how the skills they learn at college would transfer into the workplace.

The Services to the Public faculty intends to create more employer-focused experiences such as this to enable students to explore an array of career pathways.
