A senior delegation from the National Training Fund in Oman was hosted at Reading College (part of Activate Learning), to explore opportunities for collaboration. The visit was arranged by the International team, working closely with the Association of Colleges (AoC) and the Department for International Trade (DIT).
The delegates were from leading roles in the National Training Fund, created in October 2016 to develop the training infrastructure within Oman and to build partnerships, nationally and internationally.
The delegates were given a welcome and introductory talk by Anne Haig Smith, Director of the Applied Learning Foundation, followed by a presentation from Mark Eighteen, Commercial Director, Activate Apprenticeships. Paul Wilson, representing the International team, gave an overview of the group’s international strategy and its current projects.
The delegation itinerary also included meetings with the Department for International Trade (DIT) and the Association of Colleges (AoC). The visit gives the opportunity for Activate Learning to forge links with a national body bringing the possibility of partnering in growing the training infrastructure of Oman, which the International team, Activate Apprenticeships and the Applied Learning Foundation will be keen to develop.
