Students, staff, families and guests all gathered at the college on Wednesday 25 November to celebrate the achievements of Reading College LLD/D (Learners with Learning Difficulties and/or Disabilities) students.
The event started with a dance performance and brilliant solos from students Miles and Katy, accompanied by a Level 3 Music band.
The awards were presented by VIP visitors Sir John Madejski OBE, DL and Steve Clarke Reading Football Club Manager.
Sir John Madejski said “It is always a great pleasure coming to this event as the atmosphere is so positive and welcoming. All of the LLD/D staff are brilliant and you can see this in the achievements of all the students this evening.”
Mrs Lookmanjee the mother of one of the students, Hamza, wrote to Paul Newman the Principal after the event to express her gratitude for the work the LLD/D team do but also to say how much she enjoyed the event. She said “I was delighted to attend the LLDD presentation evening… I am so, so proud of what my son have achieved at Reading College. The department are doing a great job – hats off to them.”
Event organiser Sue Edwards thanked all the staff and students who helped with the event including Level 3 performing arts and music students who helped the LLD/D students with their music and dancing.
The evening ended with another excellent performance from the band.
