What do I learn?
Throughout this course you will learn the necessary knowledge and skills that you will need in order to be successful in a career in the care sector. You will learn about the various care settings, as well as get a chance to apply all you've learnt during the course into a practical setting during your work experience.
Initially in year one you will study for a Subsidiary Diploma. Successful students will be invited to study for the Extended Diploma which they will complete in year two of the course.
What do I gain?
Upon successful completion of this course you'll be awarded the Subsidiary Diploma or the Extended Diploma depending on how far you progressed through the course. This will allow you to progress on to further study or seek employment in the health or care sector.
What do I need?
You are required to have a minimum of grades A* to C in 5 GCSE subjects including English language and maths.
All equipment is provided, but a pen and paper is always useful.
What can I do next?
Once you've completed this course successfully, you could move on to a number of other course within this sector such as: Nursing Diploma/Degree, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Teaching and Social Work, or a variety of other higher education degrees.
Alternatively you could aim to find employment in the Health and Social Care sector.
What else do I need to know?
The fee for international students for the 2016 entrance is £6,300 per year.
