As a large and successful training provider, Reading College is able to access central government funds to support training for employer staff. This covers the following three main areas:

Apprenticeships

National Vocational Qualifications (NVQs)

Reading College offers a wide range of national vocational qualifications (NVQs) which are identified below and are delivered within the workplace. Funding is available for these qualifications based upon a range of factors, which include:

• Learner Age
• Learner residency in the EU
• Prior qualifications held by the learner
• Level of qualification required (e.g. Level 2 or 3)
• Size of the employer

Pre – employment or response to redundancy training

For those employers looking to recruit new members of staff, support may be available from Job Centre Plus and Reading College via a range of government programmes. Similarly, where employers are instigating a redundancy programme and has commenced a process of consultation, again support for re-training staff may be available.
