Human Resource Practice Level 3 Certificate (CIPD) - September

This programme is administrated and delivered through Reading College and is accredited by the CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development).

The objective of the course is to provide you with a foundation in human resources management through a variety of learning experiences and obtain a widely recognised qualification within the HR sector. There will be a blend of theory, practice and skills assessment in the six modules.

What do I learn?
Modules include the following:
• developing yourself as an effective HR practitioner
• understanding organisations and the role of human resources
• recording, analysing and using HR information
• resourcing talent
• supporting good practice in managing employment relations
• supporting good practice in performance and reward management
What do I gain?
The course provides an ideal entry route for a career in HR management. You can then pursue additional CIPD qualifications at intermediate or advanced level from institutions offering these higher level courses.
What do I need?
You will be required to demonstrate that you can study at a minimum of Level 3 (A-level equivalent). You will also be required to be within an active career or work role in the HR/Personnel/Administration business sector or show a keen interest in entering this profession
What can I do next?
On completion of the course you will have achieved the knowledge element required of Associate membership of CIPD.

The next step if you wish to do so is the intermediate (Level 5) or advanced (Level 7) qualifications
What else do I need to know?
Due to the HR content and assessment of this programme and the professional nature of the course being intended for those practicing Human Resources in their work role the following criteria will be used for enrolment onto this programme:
• you should be able to demonstrate that you work within a Human Resource role or a role with responsibility for HR functions and activities, or are aspiring a career in HR
• you should be able to demonstrate a level of previous education to at least GCSE (Level 2) and equivalent.
• you should be able to demonstrate that you have the capacity and time to attend programme and undertake required out of college homework hours.
• you will be required to join the CIPD as a student member
