AAT Accounting Level 3 Advanced Diploma (Evening)

This follows on from the Level 2 Foundation Certificate and is for people who have a good knowledge of basic bookkeeping or for unqualified accounting staff with several year's ledger experience who wish to develop their accounting skills.

The course is taught in modules with an assessment at the end of each one. Tutors use a variety of techniques so that students can be expected to be actively involved during the lessons with discussions, exercises , practical demonstrations, pair work and time constrained tests.

What do I learn?
The basic principles that underpin financial and cost accounting, understanding the basic principles of VAT and the preparation of VAT returns, ethical principles and spread sheet techniques used by accountants.
What do I gain?
A qualification which has a proven track record of providing the skills that employers recognise.
What do I need?
Completion of the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting or equivalent bookkeeping qualifications at Level 2. Attendance and the number of resits taken to pass a unit at Level 2 will also be taken into consideration.
What can I do next?
On successful completion you can progress on to the AAT Accounting Level 4 Professional Diploma, subject to meeting the entry requirements.
What else do I need to know?
The course fee includes tuition, exams and AAT membership but you will have to purchase books from Kaplan which cost £125.
